How much is an intercity bus in Cyprus?

A flat €4 single fare on the Intercity Buses long-distance network. Larnaca↔Limassol (Route 32), Nicosia↔Larnaca (Route 402), Nicosia↔Limassol (Route 404), Nicosia↔Pafos (Route 411), Limassol↔Pafos (Route 631) and Larnaca↔Ayia Napa via the airport (Route 711). Same €4 whether you travel 30 minutes or 2 hours. Pay the driver in cash or tap a Motion card.

Do intercity buses run on Sundays?

Yes, but on a lighter Sunday schedule, typically every two hours instead of hourly, with the first bus around 08:00 and the last around 20:00. Aloya shows the live Sunday schedule per route and warns you when the next service is more than an hour away.

Do I need to book in advance?

No, and there's no online booking on the public network. Just turn up at the stop, pay the driver or tap your Motion card. The coaches are sized for demand and have never sold out on the main lines. If a coach is unusually full, the operator dispatches an extra within the hour.

Where do intercity buses leave from?

Each city has one or two named interchanges. Larnaca: Finikoudes seafront. Limassol: New Port interchange and the Old Hospital stop. Nicosia: Solomos Square in the old city. Pafos: Karavella station. Can I get from the airport directly on intercity?

Yes for Pafos. Route 612 runs from Pafos airport into the city and connects to the rest of the network. For Larnaca airport, you take the city bus 425 (or the Kapnos shuttle if you're heading further) into Finikoudes and board the intercity there. Which intercity routes have wifi?

Most coaches on Routes 32, 402 and 404 advertise wifi and it usually works between cities. Expect a brief blackout in the Kalavasos tunnel and around the headlands. None of the rural lines (411, 631) carry it reliably.

Route 32 · Larnaca ↔ Limassol: Hourly from 06:15 to 20:15. ~60 minutes. Coastal motorway. The most punctual line on the island. €4.
Route 402 · Nicosia ↔ Larnaca: Hourly from 05:30. ~45 minutes via the A1 motorway. The fastest way between the capital and the south coast. €4.
Route 404 · Nicosia ↔ Limassol: Hourly from 06:00. ~70 minutes via the A1. €4.
Route 411 · Nicosia ↔ Pafos: Six times daily. ~2h 15m via Limassol. €4 if you ride through; the only line on the island where the duration earns the fare twice over.
Route 631 · Limassol ↔ Pafos: Hourly from 06:15. ~90 minutes coastal. €4.
Route 711 · Larnaca ↔ Ayia Napa (via LCA airport): Half-hourly in summer, hourly in winter. ~75 minutes. €4. The de-facto airport bus for the Famagusta region.

The coaches are modern Mercedes Tourismo or Setra units, late-2010s onward. Reclining seats, USB at most rows on the newer fleet, free wifi on the main lines (it works most of the time). Luggage goes in the hold for free, one large suitcase plus a carry-on is the unwritten rule, no fee.

Cyprus is small. The longest scheduled trip on the network is Nicosia ↔ Pafos at 2 hours 15 minutes, and most rides are under 90 minutes. The road south from Larnaca runs parallel to the sea for most of the trip, right-hand seats get the Mediterranean from kilometre five onward. The Larnaca ↔ Limassol line is the most punctual; we've measured ±4 minutes on weekdays.

Two airports, two ways onto the network.

Pafos airport (PFO): Route 612, a public bus that runs every 20–30 minutes during daylight from arrivals to Karavella station, where every long-distance line departs. €1.50 for the airport leg, then €4 onwards.
Larnaca airport (LCA): No direct intercity bus from the airport itself. Take Route 425 (city bus, €1.50, every 20 minutes) into Finikoudes seafront, 15 minutes, then board the 32 to Limassol, the 402 to Nicosia or the 711 to Ayia Napa. Aloya stitches the legs into one trip.
Late-night arrivals: Both airports have the Kapnos shuttle running 24/7 to the cities for €9–€15. Aloya surfaces it automatically when the public network has stopped for the day.
