Μέχρι την Aloya, για να πάρεις λεωφορείο στην Κύπρο έπρεπε να ζογγλάρεις επτά εφαρμογές μεταφορέων σε δύο γλώσσες. Φτιάξαμε τη μία οθόνη που κρατά όλο το νησί: κάθε δημόσια γραμμή, κάθε ζωντανό όχημα, την κάρτα Motion, και τους συνεργάτες που χρησιμοποιεί κόσμος.

Seven operators, two languages, a phone full of half-apps.
The Republic of Cyprus runs its public bus network through seven separate companies. Each has its own livery, its own timetable PDF, and, when it exists at all, its own app. None of them speak both Greek and English fluently. None of them know what the others are doing. None of them know about Bolt, Nextbike, or the Kapnos shuttle that picks up where the public network stops.
The result, until 2024, was a quietly frustrating ritual: open the EMEL app for Limassol, give up, open Intercity Buses for the route to Larnaca, give up, ask a friend on WhatsApp. Aloya is the answer to that ritual, one bilingual app that holds all seven operators, plus the partners every rider quietly relies on, in one map.

- See your card balance, top up with Apple Pay or Google Pay, and tap to board. Works with the physical Motion card or as a phone-only fare.

- Every village timetable cached on your phone the first time you load it. Useful in Akamas, indispensable in Troodos.

- Greek and English on every stop, every alert, every screen, not a half-translated menu.
- Pulse
- The island, right now: weather warnings, news, cruise calls, flight delays, what's on tonight, plus a Greek word a day.
Why Aloya, not the seven tabs you already have.
The honest version: most riders use Aloya because they tried the alternatives. Operator-specific apps only show their own routes, fine if you only ride one company, useless the moment you cross a municipal boundary. Static PDFs are months out of date and never tell you that a bus is late. Aloya was built by people who took those buses every day and got tired of it.
